Future Hope Africa is expanding its Kanega Education Center

Thank you for helping us make progress toward our goal.

You donated $2,288, which moves us closer to expanding the work.

Imagine schools with no books. Or an entire city with no public library.

That’s the problem. But we have a solution.

And you can be a part of it.

In our 2018 campaign, we sought to raise $10,000 to expand the Kanega Education Center to serve more children in Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). We are thankful for the $1,788 start to our efforts.

The expansion of the education center will be ongoing, so gifts are welcome at any time. You can contribute here. When giving, select the Building Expansion Fund.

The center is our flagship service in this African city. It provides after-school tutoring for all subjects including French, which is the official language of the DRC and Congolese education. It also maintains a reading and lending library, which is a tremendous benefit given the scarcity of books in the community. Although we serve hundreds of students through our tutoring, education and youth programs, we are constantly limited by the size of our facility. More about Future Hope Africa.

Lack of space is the Kanega Center’s number one challenge – one that constrains all our programs. We have turned children away and have not been able to fully develop or advertise other programs.
