The Princess Club’s virtual retreat emphasized purposed-centered living.

The Princess Club is a faith-based group committed to creating relational connections with supportive, like-minded women. It also teaches personal financial management, basic business concepts and encourages entrepreneurialism.

In December, the group held a retreat with a virtual guest speaker, Madame Diane Pither, of the neighboring Republic of the Congo. Diane highlighted women of the Bible and their journeys and legacies. She made it practical by asking Princess Club members what their own faith journeys look like. How could they be characterized?

“To have a successful journey, we must have a set of goals and vision,” she said. “If we don’t know where we are going, any road will get us there.”

She explained that vision should not come from within, but must revealed by the Word of God and the presence of God. This requires quiet stillness in worship, meditation and prayer.

Riziki, a Princess Club member, shared personal highlights from the retreat.

"As a daughter of God, I must take time to reflect on God and His work in my life – this means every area of my life. If there are areas where I’m at odds with God’s will for me, then I must be reconciled with Him so that I can align myself with the path He has prepared for me. We need to set goals that can lead us to positive change.

“This teaching was valuable. It helped me stop and think about my walk with the Lord, to re-evaluate about my life and review my goals and vision.”
